Nature and Design, bringing nature inside…

Have you been having an overwhelming craving for nature and being outside lately?

It’s no stretch to say that people are spending an overwhelming amount of time indoors these days. Various studies have concluded that we are spending about 90 percent of our time indoors, and a recent survey of 1,000 office workers commissioned by Ambius found that 35 percent don’t get more than 15 minutes of outdoor time during the typical workday.

An additional 13 percent are able to stretch their daily time in the outdoor environments to 30 minutes, while only 26 percent manage to spend a full hour outside on any given day.

Major employers like Amazon have bought into the concept in a big way, adding dramatic features like glass-domed greenhouses to their company headquarters. That being said, I feel businesses can achieve the benefits of biophilic design as well through simpler means.

I suggest you try hanging plants, succulent walls that are easy to care for and don’t break the bank. Add color and greenery is my go to when helping businesses bring nature indoors and also stick to a budget.

Do you have plants in your businesses setting? We love helping small businesses tip their toes in the practice of bringing nature inside and satisfy that craving for greenery and natural colors in their environments. Gives us a call and explore your options for improving your ration of nature indoors…
