Meet a designer or a maker

that suits your needs

April Elaine Powell

After a successful culinary career as a chef, paired with a focus on wellness, I decided to study design more in depth and chose an education from Parsons School of Design in NYC and recently The Boston Architectural College. Over the years I’ve designed numerous spaces and workflows for corporations, restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, brewpubs, and wellness startups across the country. One of my most valuable skill-sets, is the ability to reimagine the potential in a neglected buildings interior or in the reveal of the true personality of a space not yet quite sure of itself, contributing to a truly unique design experience.

The years I spent in Portland, Seattle, Nashville and Manhattan have heavily influenced my current creative style and drive. Each city has contributed to my design process with a pace and vibrancy that shows up in my project design style, and trained my creative mind to understand and interpret the built environment. Inherently curious and fascinated with history, is something you’ll also see play out regularly in my collaborations.

Founding ID. + Collective has been a lifetime in the making and a rethink of the typical Interior Design process. Our collective’s focus is on the love for community and harnessing and infusing the resources, creatives, artists, and makers of Maine and New England within every project. And at the core of every project, our team fosters an environmentally friendly approach with human centric healthy materials to support buildings and environments that help generations thrive for many years to come.

Dream Develop Design It's in everything we do and how we collaborate.

Land Acknowledgement

We recognize that we are on indiginous land here in Portland. In addition to the Abenaki, the broader place we now call Maine is home to the sovereign people of the Wabanaki Confederacy: the Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Maliseet, and Mi’kmaq peoples. We exist on their unceded homelands.
